About Dr. Farhad Anoosh

Dr. Farhad Anoosh is a board-certified General Surgeon with extensive experience in minimally invasive, robotic, and metabolic surgery, with a focused clinical and academic interest in obesity medicine and metabolic health.

He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he is actively involved in surgical resident education, clinical teaching, and academic scholarship. His approach to care is centered on the individual patient, combining evidence-based medicine, surgical expertise, and non-surgical treatment strategies to address obesity and metabolic disease.

Dr. Anoosh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). He completed his General Surgery residency at New York Medical College, followed by advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive bariatric surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and additional training in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques.

His surgical experience includes robotic surgery and complex abdominal wall and hernia procedures, while his broader clinical and academic interests include metabolic disease, obesity treatment, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, and physician-led medical weight management.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Anoosh has authored peer-reviewed publications and remains actively engaged in educating surgical residents and practicing physicians. His work reflects a commitment to advancing modern, comprehensive approaches to obesity and metabolic care.
