After so many year of being extremely overweight, I decided to changed my life to go back to being a healthier me. I searched Brookhaven Bariatric online given by my insurance carrier. The first time I walked into the office I felt very welcomed. The staff is absolutely professional and very caring. Deeply appreciated how nurses and aides helped and guided me from day one until the day of my surgery. I was presented to my surgeon Dr. Anoosh, he is a specialist in Lap Band surgery. From the first time I was introduce to the doctor he was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. I will like to point out my stay at Brookhaven Hospital was amazing. I honestly need to say that nurses were very caring at all my needs after surgery and during my stay. Dr. Anoosh came to the hospital to see me. One thing that I will like to point out is how caring he was not only towards me as the patient but also towards my parents at all times which were in the waiting room. Dr. Anoosh is without a doubt the best around. He cares about each of his patients and takes the time to make sure all of his patients and family members are under great care and at all times well informed. He has a great bedside manner. I have only good things to say about Dr. Anoosh and the staff in the office of Brookhaven Bariatric Center! From the very first moment I was comfortable having my surgery with Dr. Anoosh. Every question was answered clearly with vast knowledge. I was told every detail of the surgery and what to expect. When I has a bad reaction to pain meds, Dr. Anoosh called me at home to check on me. I have already recommended Dr. Anoosh to several friends who inquired about what I did to lose weight!. I liked Dr. Anoosh immediately upon meeting him. He is quite knowledgeable, has a great empathy for his patients (Me!), and always has a smile on his face. He kept me well informed and told me what to expect after surgery. He is always open to questions/comments no matter how dumb they may seem to me. I can now look forward to new, healthier future! I cannot forget to mention the entire staff (Mary, LeeAnn, Alison, and Dr. Sapala too) at Brookhaven Bariatric & Wellness Center are wonderful: Professional, informative, helpful, and they really care! Dr. Anoosh joined the "family" of Brookhaven Bariatric a short time ago and although I liked him right away I always considered myself Dr. Sapalas pt. I recently had to be hospitalized 3x in 7 weeks and came know to Dr. Anoosh very well. He has the same caring, concerned and wonderful bedside manner that Dr. Sapala shows his patients. I had to have some extensive wound care (involving a machine called a wound vac) and Dr Anoosh was there for all the dressing changes - even after he had called in a wound care specialist. There were days when I thought I would never leave the hospital but when ever he saw me (my hair sticking up every which way, ugly hosp gown, etc) he never failed to say - "You look good - much better today". At every visit the last thing he says to me - you have the number call for anything - we are here for you. Ever since my first appt. with Dr. Anoosh, Dr. Sapala, and Mary Zotos (Nutritionist/Program Director) I have been very at ease in the office. The whole staff is personable and informative. Any time you need the Dr's or nurses they are there for you, and really care about you. They have all the answers to your questions, and will walk you through the process. I am having my surgery tomorrow and although it is very exciting I am also very scared. The doctor and his staff have been great in helping me to make my decision and in getting me to this point. After having some serious issues with my back and being very overeight, my medical doctor discussed bariatric surgery with me to try and have some pressure taken off of my back. I was referred to Dr. Anoosh by 2 friends and I have been seeing Dr. Anoosh since October. He and his staff have been very informative about the surgery, they all work as a team and have brought me a long way with the proper diet. I am a patient of Dr. Anoosh. He will be doing my surgery for the sleeve on June 30, 2015. I been a patient of his since Jan. 2015. He is a GREAT Dr. The staff at his office is wonderful.
